Welcome to the beautiful Teign Valley and Fingle Woods and forests. In the Dartmoor National Park, where there is something to interest everyone. There are forests, rivers, lakes, moors Tors, and china clay pits giving a moonscape view and a miniature pony centre.

We are situated on the north-eastern edge of Dartmoor and if your ultimate wish is to pitch your tent in a garden then Sweet Meadows is for you. Booking for these spaces is strongly advised, but there are plenty of niches where you can hide away. 

Alternatively why not join in for a chat barbecue and a glass of wine with friends and acquaintances round a campfire?

We are experienced campers and aim to be friendly and approachable in order to cater for your needs. We have a small camp site suitable for tents and camper vans where there is an intimate and friendly atmosphere.

Just across the river Teign from us is Fingle Forest, Recently Acquired by the Woodland Trust with miles of beautiful walks. Also nearby is Dunsford Woods a Site of Special Scientific Interest, because of its exceptional flora and fauna. At certain times of the year there are snowdrops wild daffodils, early purple and spotted orchids and a carpet of bluebells.

For children and grown-ups there are swings, a tree house, dens, wild woods and a stream. 

For wild swimmers, there is the river Teign (1/4 mile) and the best pool in the river is about 3/4 mile from Clifford Bridge nearby, or drive to Fingle Bridge (3 miles), where there is deep pool swimming a mile up the river from there.

For keen walkers/cyclists, there are miles of woodland glades and you can walk westwards along the river to Fingle Bridge and beyond to Castle Drogo, or Eastwards to Steps Bridge, or simply wander through the forests.

Stargazing / bird watching there are no street lights and light pollution is low. There are many varieties of flora and fauna, so don't forget to bring your camera, binoculars or telescope.
